Thanks for the additional info! Well, we have gotten some pretty good rains so far. So I'm happy the ground got a good soaking for the time being at least. It's past my bed time good night my friends!

Usually when storms like this come through, the days after are wonderful. Looks like Sunday and on are going to be real nice...and probably the last "nice" days of the year

and my bike goes in the shop tomorrow and I won't see it again for months

but having it on the Autobahn will make it all worth it.

BTW, I'm glad there's rain, but I need to mow my lawn one last time before I leave. Hoping to be able to do that Saturday or Sunday. I'm SO glad everything is more green again. This place doesn't look good at all in brown death..

Woke up just now (preparing for my night shift tonight) and it is THUNDERING & POURING!!! Absolutely intense. I'm thinking of hitting up a restaurant because maybe it won't have too many customers thanks to this stuff from the sky

Exclamation SA Weather Update! 5/10/12

The National Weather Service has forecast 90% chance of Severe Thunderstorms today and tonight, and has also issued the following advisories....

-Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect untill 8pm

-Flash Flood Watch in effect through Friday:
"AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ACROSS NORTHERN MEXICO WILL
MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS TEXAS THROUGH FRIDAY. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE
EARLY MORNING HOURS FRIDAY. RAIN CHANCES ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE
FROM WEST TO EAST DURING THE DAY FRIDAY.

WITH SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT
THE DAY TODAY AND THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. AVERAGE RAINFALL
TOTALS THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING ARE EXPECTED TO BE 2 TO 4 INCHES...WITH
ISOLATED TOTALS IN EXCESS OF 4 INCHES POSSIBLE. SINCE SOILS OVER
SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS HAVE ALREADY BEEN MOISTENED FROM RAINFALL
EARLIER THIS WEEK...THE HEAVY RAINS SHOULD PRODUCE FASTER RUNOFF
AND AN INCREASED POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING...AS WELL AS
FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS."

-Hazardous Weather Outlook:
"...SEVERAL UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES
WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION AND PROVIDE LIFT FOR SCATTERED TO
NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY. AS THE
STORMS MOVE OVER THE SAME LOCATIONS...THE GROUND WILL BECOME
SATURATED AND THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING WILL INCREASE
"

In a nut shell, an upper level low pressure system will crawl across South Texas, and with it the instability to produce prolonged showers and thunderstorms, which in turn creates a high possibility for flooding.

Please be careful out there, and remember
TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN!
