I really need to just break down and get XM.
I love XM...that's pretty much all I listen to in the car...

I do have a smart phone, but unfortuntately my radio doesn't have an MP3 jack.

I prefer 97.7 to the other stations since they occasionally play alt rock like someone mentioned earlier, but I quickly get tired of them too. I usually hear the same songs on the morning drive to work that I'm going to hear on the drive home that afternoon.

I don't think this problem is unique to San Antonio. I travel quite a bit and I usually hear the same playlist no matter what city I'm in.

This is why I prefer to take the wife's car when I can. She already has XM in her car. I did one roadtrip with XM and now I'm hooked.

I used to have XM...........wondering if I should get it back. Anyhow, I listen to CDs and my MP3 mainly, because radio sucks so bad. Why cant they play more of a variety on whatever channel it is. They rotate the same 20 songs..........gets OLD!!!!!

You probably get 97.7 better on your side of town, up here in the NW the signal is pretty weak; but it is still much better than the cloned rock stations that clutter the frequencies.

I tried listening to this new "World Class Rock" station this morning and found I could not tell it apart from what every other rock station in SA was playing.

As such, I plugged my Zune in and listened to Mark Kerr's Texas Blues Cafe! If I am in the mood for some rock, I simply listen to his Rock Show, great stuff!

Cheers! M2

106.7 is a Cox station, and there is a list above of SA's Clear Channel stations.

But that's the only way I can get to hear both sides of any political issue that's going on at the moment.

Totally agree we need a good alternative rock and/or indie rock music station. SA radio stations are so crappy. It takes them forever to play a new song. Then you have to hear the same song over and over. How boring and stupid clear channel takes over our city.

We need to have like protest in front of clear channel or do something. I wish we were allowed to pick what kind of radio stations we wanted.

I gave 106.7 an honest try, but I just can't do it anymore. Back to 97.7, at least until I get XM.

Well that sucks. My wife and i are moving down to SA in about a week or so from northern Minnesota, and i was hoping for some good radio stations down there, hopefully it is better though. Currently here in Minnesota where we live we have one rock, two country, and one "easy listening" stations.

You're good to go - sounds like you're already well prepared for radio alternatives and your knowledge will not go to waste in SA.
