Red Rocker digs up his roots in Fontana - DailyBulletin.com

PERHAPS THE best-known person to hail from Fontana, rocker Sammy Hagar has published a memoir containing liberal mentions of his hometown - not to mention other words beginning with F.

"When I was growing up, Fontana, California, was all orange groves, grape vineyards, and chicken ranches," Hagar's account begins. "I could eat oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines all (expletive) day if I wanted."

His taste in Mexican food is suspect. The now-closed restaurant that was his favorite served up bland, gabacho-style slop that was almost as bad as the slop I had in Boise, ID some 30 years ago.

Cool.

Although Sammy's rum is made in Hawaii the boxes are from Fontana.

Oh ... the reason I came here!!! HEL ... LO!!!!!

The reason I came here was to tell my man 'Tucky that Sammy's sister Velma is an acquaintance of mine. She lives here in the desert and she owns two shoe stores - Cactus Flower Shoes (for women) and Hagar's Shoes For Men.

The Mexican food at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas was suprisingly good--but that might have been all the Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo tequilla I drank...

The band sucked though, they played "Sweet Home Alabama" like three time in two hours...

It's kinda sad that Sammy's sister is named Velma. What about Moon Unit or Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, something befitting of a rock legends sister.

Now I have to picture his sister as:
