That doesn't exist within that housing budget in LA County. Keep renting.

This is what I did......

Determined my budget to purchase home, started house hunting, settled on purchasing in Riverside.
Quit job in L.A, found job in Riverside, bought house in Riverside. The end.

I do realize it's not that simple for everyone. But, there is more than one employer out there. A job is just a job. Send out a few resume's in (or near) the city you want to live and see who bites.

That's what I did too. Focused my search in the IE. There are jobs in the IE but you have to wait longer for the right opportunity.

The point of the IE was closest to the job they could afford. If you are going to bag the job potentially then I would look in places like murrieta and temecula or something similar elsewhere.

Well, a new job is out of the question as the job that my DH has now is new, LOL. He was heavily recruited by this company for the past 2 years and he finally took the leap and though we have more money to work with, by CA standards it's not nearly enough. I am beyond sick of how expensive it is to live in CA. I told my DH recently that I have no problem buying a house somewhere, fixing it up real purdy and then selling it and re-locating out to TX, which we should have done last year like we planned. His company is huge out there and for what he does, TX would offer lifelong job security, not to mention a lower COL and affordable housing that we could be proud of.

Sounds like a lot of work just to leave again. Just stick it out as is and relocate to TX.

Don't buy anything here if you think you'll be moving. You won't see enough gains to make even paying the realtor fee worth it in that short a time. From reading your posts, it sounds as if TX is where your heart is, so plan toward that.

I know my house is supposed to go up 16% in a yr. But you have to think this house was worth towards 400,000. Now about 200,000. You would need to stay put for quite awhile. Also, mine has gone up a lot this last yr. Only because new construction in this area. Justbfood for thought in your planning.

16%? That sure sounds like a zillow produced number.
