Hello,

Sorry If im asking a new thing everyday. Researching the possible places we might live in in a few months. We were transferred to Azusa , however I am not liking the schools, plus i am seeing I can get more house in Rancho C. And there are good schools in the Etiwanda school district. Is this a place that you would recommend? How is the commute to Azusa? I saw its about 21 miles to my husbands work and were okay with that.

Anything helps!

Thanks!

Well, Rancho Cucamonga is referred to as the "Beverly Hills" of the Inland Empire. So yes, it is a nice area if you don't mind being further away from big city amenities.

Key phrase: inland empire (not Beverly hills)

It's an excellent town for families. A lot of newer homes, nice neighbourhoods and very clean streets. Great shopping and entertainment at places like Victoria Gardens.

As for the commute, you should take the 210. I have personally taken he 210 and 10 during rush hour in and around that area to go to Claremont , Pasadena and other parts of LA and the 210 was not that bad. Especially the route you would be taking.

I would rule out San Dimas or La Verne budget/commute-wise before I committed to RC. Maybe even Chino Hills too.

Diamond Bar and Arcadia are both within very reasonable commute distances with great school districts. However, these are very heavily Asian population areas if you are okay with that.

I lived in Alta Loma and my daughter graduated from Etiwanda HS in 2001.

Etiwanda has good schools and larger lots. Some of the pre-Great recession houses are both huge and expensive. A lot of nice mountain views and can have a good downhill view as well, depending on how the house is situated. It isn't the same open-space undeveloped place it was in the late 1990s, but you would enjoy it.

Since your post is titled Rancho Cucamonga, just remember that it is not all the same place. Generally up the hill is better, at least above Baseline until you get east of Milliken, then lower than Baseline is still Etiwanda School District, but in general, above the 210 is best.

+1 on Alta Loma. It may be more expensive than the rest of RC but it is still a true gem as far as value for money... You get more than what you paid for!

Yes, especially if you live as far east as Alta Loma (there's a reason it's less expensive). He'll be driving with traffic both ways.

Lol Beverly Hills of the IE. I grew up there and own property there still and the only people that call it that are the people that live there so I'd take it with a grain of salt since it's self-proclaimed. It is a nice town though but it is similar to Temecula, people there think look down on others as if they lived in Newport Beach yet they forget they're still in the IE. I blame this on the failed OC transplants bringing their snob mentality.
