Rancho gets the wind....I'd go with Chino Hills....The Santa Ana winds blow like CRAZY pass Euclid Blvd and friends up in Alta Loma used to complain about the winds all the time...

Sent you a message back. Also, it's hard to NOT run into a park in Rancho Cucamonga. Seems like no matter where you live in this city you are walking distance to at least one park. The two closest would be on Wardman Bullock and Banyon or on Santa Ynez and Hickox. Both are probably less than 2 minutes driving distance and probably 5 minutes walking from Frost Dr.

There is also a huge park nearby in Fontana Summit, near Summit HS. It's a huge park so I'd check that one out as well.

The wind can blow hard sometimes, but it is not that bad at all. It only happens for a few brief periods a year then it's gone. Not moving here because of the wind would be nonsense...

Depends where in Alta Loma. The further west, the more likely you are are to be sheltered from the winds, especially as you go uphill. The winds have an easier time going through the passes and canyons to the east. However when it spills straight over the taller mountains, we do get it, especially at night.

I prefer Chino Hills. Closer to big attractions like the beach, Disneyland other parts of Orange County or LA. Chino Hills has a nice vibe to it as well, but that's just my opinion.

Chino Hills is much nicer than Rancho Cucamonga in general.

Pros (Chino Hills)
-Nice views of mountains at most part of the city
-Very Safe (walk at night with no issues)
-Many trails within the city
-Weather slightly better than Rancho
-More centrally located to commute to "places"

Pros (Rancho Cucamonga)
-Closer to malls
-Cheaper real estate and more options

Chinese investors seem to be buying most of the houses here so inventory is low and housing prices are higher relatively.

Chino Hills is a quiet town with people who are mostly friendly. Lots of people here try to stay in shape and eat healthy so there is a nice health and fitness vibe. for the most part, people are friendly and nice. My street is filled with people always waving and saying hi, but they never really get together and hang out or anything.

Jeez I hope this awful post helps.
