Is is possible to find a condo in the SD area when you have 3 cars? We own 2 cars, and my husband will be getting another car to drive to and from work only when we move to SD in November. Most of the condo listings say that you get 2 assigned parking spaces. Does that mean that there is no way to park a third car anywhere nearby? Where do guests park? Please clarify!? I'm from the midwest where parking is never ever an issue.

You said "condo in SD area". That is a lot of square mileage.
It can depend on where in SD. In the suburbs it will typically be easier to find street parking than the City area (uptown, downtown etc).
For example I live downtown and work in Scripps Ranch (subrubs). If you dont have parking downtown, you will pay a lot of money for a spot with a reputable parking company like 5 star or you can attempt to not get a ticket or towed parking on the street (I know this all too well).

With the burbs, for the MOST part with the exception of some areas, you can find street parking near condos/apartments.

If you have more specifics about where in SD you were looking, I am sure there are posters here who have some good tips.

Our neighborhood has street parking, but ONLY for guests. They will ticket. After 3 overnight stays in a month, they will tow. Check the condo/HOA retrictions very carefully.

It's going to be tough one
Unless you buy a condo that has a 2 car garage and a parking space.
parking is going to be at a premium
You could also look into renting a parking space from your neighbors when you move in.
I made an extra 65 dollars a month letting my neighbor park his boat in my extra space.

Our condo association in RP provides two official parking stickers, and has city-controlled street parking nearby (so the association can't get all proprietary about it!). There are two more condo associations on the same road (Azuaga) that also have on-street parking besides their own parking lots.
