You think the Spanos' isn't making a killing off the team in the old stadium? Really?

You do know there is a penalty clause that would have been very expensive for them to leave before right? Guess when that clause is up?

The NFL does not play the players do. There is probably going to be a labor dispute and lock out. The Union has warned all players to save their last 3 game checks in case of it.

There may or may not be strike teams.

Chargers get blackout extension

By UNION-TRIBUNE,
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 4:40 p.m.
The Chargers (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/San_Diego_Chargers - broken link) announced Monday evening that they have been granted a 24-hour extension to sell nearly 2,000 seats needed to lift the blackout for Thursday's home finale against the San Francisco 49ers (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/San_Francisco_49ers - broken link).
Extensions are rarely granted unless the home team believes it has a good chance to sell the necessary tickets. The new deadline is 5:20 p.m. Tuesday.
If the blackout is lifted, the game will be televised on NFL Network (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/NFL_Network - broken link), with a simulcast (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/Simulcast - broken link) in San Diego County (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/San_Diego_County,_California - broken link) on the Fox (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/Fox_Broadcasting_Company - broken link) affiliate, Channel 5/69.

Get over yourself. The main reason why the Chargers might be forced to relocate is that the owners want a new stadium. I'm sure their thinking is that many other teams have gotten new stadiums (Dallas, Seattle, Pittsburgh, DC, Cleveland, etc) so why shouldn't they? None of teams in California play in new stadiums. FYI - before this season, the last Chargers blackout was in 2004. And don't think the Chargers have the worst attendance in the NFL, either.

THANK YOU!

I tried to explain this to people but they just brush it off like I made it up or something. The Chargers have a large San Diego fan base whether people on this site or in LA like it or not.

There is nothing from keeping Spanos from building a stadium. Nothing.

Chargers Avoid A Blackout For Game Vs Patriots | Yardbarker.com

2009 TV blackouts looming?

Come on, if it's a "last minute" lift of a blackout the turnstile counts will show thousands of empty seats. A sold out game in Dallas means you can't buy tickets, anywhere.

Just look up "charger games near blackout" and see how many years it comes up. EVERY year. Try that for Denver or Dallas or ?? other team that sells a lot of NFL carp.

A sold out game here means the other team's fans are buying the tickets or some Corp looking for a tax break bought them out last minute.

You mean aside from the facts that the NFL is at 32 teams, a nice number for structuring conferences/divisions, and has shown no intention whatsoever of expanding any time in the near-term (or even medium-term, for that matter)? Los Angeles serves NFL owners well as a threat in order to get new stadiums and lucrative deals along with those stadiums.

*3 years? How long do you think it takes to open the expansion application process (at least two years), award franchises (at least a year), field those awarded teams (at least two years) and have that team become competitive (at least two years)?

If the Vikings move to LA, the Chargers still have a stadium issue.
