Besides CL and Padmapper.com? I'm tired of all the scammers that flood the CL listings everyday. All I'm looking for is a studio apt that will allow me to have my 2 cats, that has laundry on site and would be equal or less than $825/month with a 6 mo lease that I can pay for all upfront. One would think the search would be slightly easier..

'm looking to move to SD no later than the 2nd week of Oct, preferably before though.

San Diego Reader

I am not sure if the Roommate ads are posted online.

The SD Reader can be found in a lot of restaurants, libraries, bars.

The fee is usually worth it. There is a good chance a place can be found on there.

I don't know how old you are, but life experience has told me in situations like you are in, it would be worth it to pay the fee. You could end up saving a lot of money on rent. You don't know whether you will find a place on there or not. It is an unknown. I would go with the percentages.

I believe there is way to search the ads without paying a fee. The contact information is not given though.

When I used them in the past, the landlords posted ads for free which means a lot of them did so. I am not certain that is still the case. I would find out.

Zillow.com now shows rentals. The map layout is super useful (to me at least).

You should have no problems finding a place that will accept two cats.
