Manchester went so far as to rename the paper. He wanted to hide the Union part of Union Tribune.

Never mind there's a street downtown called Union Street. My dad told me that back when he was working in the soap factory that was at Union and Market, the printing of the paper used to be done on that street. That's how it got the name Union Street.

That was back in the 1960s. They wanted the printing presses to be near the railroad tracks so they could get the newsprint rolls.
