If someone from Ramona or familiar with the airport area could help me out, I would be grateful!!!!

I am looking at a property in Ramona that is about 1 mile away from the Ramona Airport. I am wondering just how noisy it would be.

Is that airport used commercially by UPS or any other big shippers??? Is there a lot of noisy jets or other aircraft taking off from there on a very regular basis???? Do they close the airport at night....limit the takeoffs???

I am actually out of state(Spokane) so I would only visit if I make an offer and utilize refusal via inspection contingent if neccesary. I know Ramona somewhat, just not familiar with the operations of the airport.

Thanks in advance!

PS: I know there are other Ramona threads, after searching...I do not think this question will fit into any of them very good!

That airport is used mostly for private planes and fire fighting aircraft.

Personally, I don't think it is noisy.

Sometimes they have air shows that can attract small crowds, but that is not often.

BTW, that is near one of my biking routes. Beautiful fields.

I'll post a picture if I can find it.

edit: Here it is...

County of San Diego: Noise Abatement Program Call the airport and ask about noise abatement. If they have an ILS (instrument landing signal) ask for a map and make sure you don't live under it for at least 15 miles out.

Wow, very helpful answer.

Airports vary a lot.......that is why I am asking the question!!!

Some small airports have very little traffic....others are very busy....get it???

I assume the ILS is problematic with electronic devices???

15 miles out....huh, nobody would live in Ramona if they took that advice!

May be small now but in ten years it may become a major regional hub for shippers, and go from ten planes a day to four or five hundred.

My folks live in Ramona facing the valley where the airport is. The plane noise is not bad with the exception if there is a fire in the area and the bombers take off.
