From my perspective you're missing the point. No one is proposing to constantly carry a weapon.

What we want is the option to do so.

Carry one then, in California it's a misdemeanor to carry a concealed weapon without a permit, if you have a clean record you won't even do any jail time..and unless you're acting like a real jack a$$ who is going to know you are carrying? Cops need probable cause to search you. And if you use it in self defense it's not very likely the DA is going to prosecute you for not having a permit. It just seems like much ado about nothing.
