Check San Diego's Craigslist website:

craigslist: san diego classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

You will find tons of info about jobs, housing, roommates, and lots of other stuff.

It's probably the best resource out there!

It's like the ultimate Sunday newspaper classified section.

As an example, if you want to search the San Diego Craigslist Jobs section specifically for Executive Assistant jobs, click on this link:

san diego craigslist > > jobs: search for "executive assistant"

You can also use Craigslist to buy and sell used stuff (furniture, electronics, computers, bikes, sports equipment, automobiles).

It's free to place an ad, which can include photos.

And you are mostly dealing with other local San Diego residents, so you just meet them directly when you buy and sell stuff.

People in San Diego are also very generous, and often give away valuable items for free on Craigslist. Almost every single day people give away free furniture (sofas, tables, kitchen sets, lamps).

HockeyMal,

I was born and grew up in San Diego. I graduated and got my teaching credential from SDSU, but I sure wouldn't want to teach in San Diego. For one thing, the pay stinks compared to L.A. Also, class sizes in CA are outrageous. I have a fifth grade class of 34 students, and only 8 are proficient readers. It's tough to give intervention to those kids when I'm doing crowd control. We've got huge numbers of English-language learners, and teaching these kids while trying to meet the requirements of NCLB is a daunting task. If I were in another state, I'd stay there. I'm thinking of relocating to MA. Oh, another thing about CA. I bought a 2 bedroom house in Pasadena last year...1165 square feet for only $659,000. That alone makes me wish I were in another state.
