That's OK because when we think of nice places we rarely think of Georgia.

That's ok, to each his own (by the way, I'm a sd native so it's not like you are hurting my feelings)

I grew up on Long Island. The beaches in SD are definitely more visually stunning, with cliffs and bluffs. The sand in SD is finer and softer.

However compared to LI at least the water is very cold and full of kelp. Also the beaches in SD can be very crowded both for parking and the actual beach itself. That means some trash issues especially at the more popular beaches.

When I first moved here I was all about the beach. Lived near it, spent all day on it. Nowadays, I rarely set foot on the actual sand of the beach.

Tybee Island Beach (near Savannah) is nice. Sure it's not La Jolla but it's descent, and underrated. For the OP, I would say the nicest beaches in Sand Diego are between and including La Jolla and Enicinats, which includes Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Cardiff.
