It's about time! It's amazing that people have the audacity to believe one has the right to "cut" something off a human being that was meant to be there without a persons consent. There are over 30 thousand nerve endings sliced off during this barbaric, archaic procedure. Also, I think another primary reason for why circumcision has continued, is because mothers of baby boys don't like the male anatomy as is.

Oh God, not this debate again!

If it makes it on the ballot, I very much doubt it will pass. If by some miracle it does, SF will become the laughing stock of the United States (if it hasn't already). I have to believe there are more pressing issues to deal with.

The people are to blame if it passes, and as such will not be "more level headed"

I can't think of one time where a voter passed referendum in SF wasnt 'level-headed' apart from the same old liberal vs conservative differences.

Most of the crazy stuff comes from extremists pushing a ballot measure like this, or the board of Supes going off the deep end.

In any event, I dont really see how they are to 'blame' even it does pass. Its their city, not ours.

What's so crazy or extremist about prohibiting mutilation of innocent children without their consent?

I say, let them grow up first, if they want to mutilate themselves afterwards (say, when they are 18), it's up to them.

Yeah, I'm not seeing why this is a bad thing. There are lots of medical reasons why adult men should be circumcised, but an infant?

Children...consent...
What if they didn't want to be born? No one asked the fetus. We need a law.

And a wrinkly schlong.
