You'll begin to see a lot of restaurants close for lunch M through F. Those people drive up rents, push out families, and spend all day trying to figure out how to sell your personal information all for the sake of advertising revenue. The reason I mention this because I would walk by these Google bus lines every day and it seemed to be 70%white male, 20% white female and maybe 10% asian. I've never seen a black person in those lines. Trust me you don't have to be a genius to figure out how to sell google web history to advertisers. Google's code was written years ago.
If this is true, then I need to know how. Please, tell me where one can learn this stuff.

those stats are old. and it fails to take into account that everyday black families are moving out of oakland. while everyday latinos and whites move into oakland and take their place. believe it or not, sacramento is projected to have the largest black population in california. more than oakland, sf, or LA. that's according to the census. california is around 1% black now, and continues to drop. what can be done about it, i'm not sure. oakland's demographics for 2012 look more like this: 50% white, 40% latino, 5% asian, and less than 5% black.

Cities with largest black population losses between 2000 and 2010 .

1. Detroit: -185,393

2. Chicago: -181,453

3. New York: -100,859

4. Los Angeles: -54,606

5. Washington, D.C.: -39,035

6. Oakland : -33,502

7. Cleveland: -33,304

8. Atlanta: -29,746

9. Baltimore: -24,071

10. San Francisco: -12,010

Oakland has lost 23 percent of its black population since 2000, one of the biggest drops nationwide.

Smaller cities in the Bay Area also had significant shifts. Richmond's black population dropped by 23 percent, Berkeley's by 20 percent, Daly City's by 24 percent and East Palo Alto's by 31 percent.

If I could, I would give them my city's black population. Racist snottiness aside, what would be the purpose of reversing said trend? The way to do it though would be jobs, jobs, jobs - grow the entire population and a tiny fraction of that would be black people. Maybe jobs, which are probably due to political policies opposite of how the majority of blacks vote, are the reason blacks are moving back to the South.

In a reversal, more blacks moving back to South - Washington Times

2) so you admit the latinos have the 30's through 50's, and from 85th through 106th. and then you say they are a sizeable population from 10th up to fruitvale. all of which i agree with. but if blacks are only the majority from 55th to 73rd, that's less than 20 blocks. while latino's control more than 40 blocks, by your own account. and you're being modest. i would give latinos from the 50's up to 73rd. havenscourt middle school has almost no black students left, their parents pulled them out and latinos replaced every one that left. macarthur is one of the last pockets of the black community in east oakland that i was referring to. however, that's bound to change eventually. castlemont high school is majority latino. once those kids grow up and start families there, theyll replace the remnants of oakland's black population.

3) i agree

Uh... not sure where to start with #2.

1) This is 18th & Adeline (DeFremery Park) in October 2011:

Photos taken by yours truly. I don't ever notice a dearth of black folks when I'm in West Oakland. And Uptown is far from being all white... the moment you're in the Northgate/Pill Hill section of Uptown it goes back to being majority black, particularly between Telegraph and 980/24. The demographics of this area are changing pretty rapidly though... it remains to be seen what the area will look like in the next 5-10 years.

2) "The latinos" (not sure why you're referring to them as 'the') have the 30's and 50's along with "the blacks" "the asians" and the steadily increasing population of "the whites" lol. Allendale/Bartlett/School/Peralta Creek/etc. are among the most racially diverse neighborhoods in Oakland and are not at all dominated by latinos or any other group for that matter. 35th is more black and 38th is more latino but within the neighborhoods you see everybody. Once you pass Allendale Ave the area becomes more latino but there's obviously a large black population as well in Fremont/Harrington/Melrose/etc.

And no, I didn't say that the 50's are predominantly Latino. Are you kidding me? Ever been to Maxwell Park or Frick recently? The 50's are easily one of the blackest parts of East Oakland along with the adjacent Havenscourt and Seminary neighborhoods. Frick Middle School has no shortage of black students... Maxwell Park Elementary is majority black. That's not to say anything of the fact that the foothills above MacArthur between Seminary and the San Leandro border are all majority black.

And no, the Deep East latino population is concentrated between 82nd and 98th around International... the 100's above International are very much a mostly black area. Brookfield Village and Elmhurst Park have indeed become increasingly latino but it doesn't have to do much with them displacing blacks... it's more that blacks in the area are leaving in large part due to the crime, lack of jobs and terrible schools in the area.

And the area around International between 1st and 14th is overwhelmingly asian/black... you don't see much of a significant latino population until you're in the 20's. There's some latinos in the Clinton neighborhood but not that many.

3) Glad we agree on something lol.

LOL @ Uptowns All White, I live in Uptown now, I'm not white, I'm Black, and so is over half my building, so that alone kills your ridiculous claim. Also, I'm getting troll vibes from you. With that said, where is 73rd and Fruitvale? LOL

Those stats are based off the most recent census data, you're obviously desperate to prove that you know absolutely NOTHING about Oakland. Another Troll, how surprising.

I have no evidence that Uptown is all white. Especially since I know quite a few non-whites that live there. Oh and different sections of Art Murmur have different crowds as well. Head over to Make Westing one day, and see how 100% white it is.
