Oakland has lucked into extra time through no skill of its own- only the circumstance of this territorial rights agreement.

Cities have lost franchises for developing no stadium/arena plans in far less time than Oakland has been granted- Seattle NBA, Los Angeles NFL twice, Houston NFL, Charlotte NBA, Sacramento was about to, Montreal MLB - Oakland better stop thinking it's on welfare and get some real work done. Knauss talking doesn't count.

Tell that to MLB which which had been stringing you and your money along since 2009.

Until then, to even suggest that at this point San Jose has the momentum is flat out false.

This is 100% correct.

Brand knowledge is not my point. My point is: Detergent company or top dog networking company? Which sounds better, You tell me...

Silicon Valley bias? Awww....don't hate, just because you moved away from 408

Hahhahah.

Oh it's just our hearts that were strung along, no money has been strung yet (except for the few hundred thousand bucks spent on the two EIRs on our site, but chump change next to Mt. Davis).

Thanks for your concern though, and that's why we're suing Big bad San Jose will take the lead and push this matter and FIGHT for our city's interest. Charming little passive Oakland can certainly come along for the ride

Clorox has a bunch of well known brands in its stable outside of bleach.

Naming rights are pretty meaningless for me, I still call it Pac Bell Park. Or Candlestick. Some names stick, some don't. Oracle sticks. Network Associates did not. I don't know where
Petco and Safeco are. I can't seem to associate those with cities or teams.

For someone like me neither would stick. But Cisco is a big company that no one has a clue what they do. They need naming rights to boost their stock price with regular investors. They, for the average person just aren't very tangible.

Look dude. I know you don't like the Valley, but everyone and their Moms in the Bay Area and nationwide knows what Cisco does. /debate

Like I said: Detergent company or top dog networking company? Which SOUNDS better? You tell me... *shrugs*

What a ridiculous argument. Which 'sounds' better? Hahaha

And Clorox is a great name.

Its laughable when people who are clearly biased towards one side pretend that they are some objective observer with no preference one way or another.

I really don't think so, Bay Area more so but nationwide certainly not. It's not like Apple, HP, Facebook, etc.. that are household names and people know their products.

Honestly I really don't know what Cisco does, just that its a technology company and never think about it. Do you really think you're average person is going to know "computer networking systems" or whatever more so than a common household product? Outside of IT professionals and computer geeks who would care about Cisco?

No I have no issues with SV. my first job was PR for networking. Trying to explain it to people outside of tech was pulling teeth. Later I worked in storage networking. That was worse. I have been trying to explain the cloud to my dad now for 4 years. He recently had an epiphany that Salesforce is an online database.

The who is irrelevant. The total name is more important. Clorox or Cisco Coliseum are pretty equivalent in catchiness with alliteration. Clorox Park and Cisco Park don't have a ring to it. Facebook Park might. Who knows. There is no definitive better or worse for naming rights. There isn't a good brand tie in for anyone. It s all just ego. I don't care who names any sports arena.
