Oh wait, she didn't want to be a "cliche" and be an actual working stiff.

This is why I am so glad I am a Reagan era (1984) baby. We were literally the last generation in this country that learned you have to work for a living.
The problem with being socialism is it produces more and more people like this chick....until you end up like Greece. A socialist who's glad he's a Reagan era baby. Oh, the irony.

Yes, that probably is what would happen. And many Bay Area NIMBYs are all about importing low wage labor from 3rd world countries (legalities be d*mned)....and then complaining about income inequality. Yet another major disconnect.

Uh no. Please do not talk about complex economic/politcal matters that you do not comprehend. I studied politics/economy in college and got degrees in both subjects, not you. I work in government, not you. Please get some credentials before you dare address me with any sort of political statement. You are not educated in this subject matter. Next thing we know, you will be giving legal advise with out a law degree. Good grief.

Greece is in the mess it is in, because it's pensions system is literally insane, to the point that it makes cities like Detroit look like wallstreet.

Add in the fact that they spend a disproportionate amount of their GDP on their Military (relative to other EU countries) and you have a recipe for disaster. Like most people, you are probably not aware of this. You are aware that some of the most prosperous EU countries, are socialist? Of course you're not.

My Reagan era baby comment spoke more to the generation I was born in (echo boomers), and was not a political statement of any sort. Now please, go to sleep, if you can manage to with that stench out there in Milpitas or Newark -where ever you live.

You're not a socialist, not by a long shot. A socialist would never make a comment like that. Bay Area elitist (or pseudo-elitist)? Sure.

You don't know me, and what do you care, all the way in fly over country anyways?

Is there some sort of law that prevents people who are socialist from observing pragmatic solutions in a Capitalist society?

This is what really got my blood boiling. My last job had one of those horrible high deductable plans, and as I have a health condition that needs monitoring, I couldn't just forgo checkups. I'll never forget going to see my new specialist for the first time, $500+ for one appointment. I didn't go back to the doctor until I could switch to my husband's plan.

CEO of Yelp was right - he can't control the COL in The Bay Area.

The best solution is to migrate jobs (especially entry level) to other cities where it's more affordable.

Yelp made a very poor business decision when it put its CS here in the Bay Area. Most Bay Area firms I know keep their CS departments in SLC, Phx, Denver, etc. You'd think they could hire Mercer or another consultant to analyze COL and allocate their human capital efficiently? (Or at least in a way that doesn't result in poverty-stricken/desperate employees....)

Because I read the article, happened to check this forum to see if there was a thread on the topic, and saw your completely ridiculous reply. And BTW, Bernie Sanders was just in Kansas City for a PACKED rally. But of course, coastal elitists probably think all those backwater peoples in flyover country can't support or appreciate socialism.

But a true socialist would never make the sort of comment you made. It's a self-evident truth based on the inherent assumptions you made.

Screw her. Her parents probably were dumb enough to believe her ridiculous sob stories, but people out in the real world know better.

And yes, I realize I'm being super judgmental, but she put herself in the position to draw the ire and wrath of the internet, so she certainly has gotten what's coming to her.
Completely agree with your post.

She neglected to mention the delivery in her letter to boss man. Who thinks she wrote that letter, while drinking shots?

She is paying extra $$$ to have BULLEIT BOURBON frontier whiskey delivered to work. She should have made her social media accounts private before trying to become famous.
