This very lame travel feature from the AP was trending on dozens of news sites Monday. Can you say CLICK BAIT?

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Every few years, my cousin Molly Carpenter and I plan a trip together to somewhere we've never been. Our priorities: sightseeing, shopping, good food and wine. This year, Savannah checked all those boxes for us.

I dunno, for their age range and travel time window and stated goals, it read fine to me. A little boring, perhps, but then excitement was not on the agenda. It could have stood some additional comments about how there's a lot more they didn't see...

Expedia named Savannah one of the of sexiest destinations in the world...
Quote:
Expedia named the 16 sexiest destinations in the world with Savannah making the cut. Other destinations listed include: Dubai; Taos, N.M.; Tel Aviv, Israel; New Orleans, La.; Miami, Fla.; Rotorua, New Zealand; Nice, France; Pittsburgh, Penn.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Kapalua, Hawaii; Stroudsburg, Penn.; Ibiza, Spain; Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and San Luis Obispo, Calif.

According to the site, “arguably the sexiest accent in America, that slow Georgia drawl is viscous as honey and enough to send us rushing to” Savannah. Other features that will enhance the romance, according to the site, include the “Spanish moss, scintillating haunted vibes and stately Victorian mansions.”
Savannah is one of the world

Detroit is thrilled to join Savannah as one of Forbe's "10 Coolest U.S. Cities to Visit in 2018."

Detroit on Forbes' list of '10 Coolest U.S. Cities to Visit in 2018' | MLive.com

The Motor City is featured on alongside Savannah, Ga., Portland, Maine, Baltimore, Philadelphia Louisville, Columbus, Ind., Richmond, Lancaster, Pa. and San Antonio.

FROM THE WRITER OF THE FORBES ARTICLE: "I asked high-end travel designers about their favorite domestic destinations. These are people who deal in the exotic, who send their clients to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences in far-flung locales. But when I asked about what’s in our own backyard, they were full of enthusiasm. Here are their places to go now."

I can't help but wonder what's so special about Columbus, Indiana.
