I am scheduled for a business trip to Seattle and decided to take advantage and explore Vancouver while I am there. I was originally planning to rent a car and drive but just found out that there is this ridiculous one-way drop fee of $660.16 between the 2 cities. Are there any other feasible options traveling between the 2 cities: buses, trains, ferries?

Please advise.

Vancouver, Seattle Bus Transportation

I use Quickshuttle a lot and always had a great experience with them. It's a Canadian company, though, and is probably more expensive than going with a US service due to the current exchange rate. You can pay both in US and in Canadian dollars. Round trip or commuter fares are less expensive than one way trips.

So are you are flying out of Vancouver or Seattle? When i did that, i rented a car, but returned back to Seattle. Otherwise, I'd do Amtrak as suggested above.

I made a couple of trips "to and through" Vancouver into Northern BC. Vancouver is a very nice city, (if you like cities). Personally, I try to avoid cities regardless of how clean they are...... but that is just me.

I've always considered Vancouver one of the ten most beutiful cities in the world. Historically, the city father's did a much better job in planning the city layout then they did in Seattle. Then you have the bay and the beautiful backdrop of the mountains right behind downtown Vancouver, it's pretty awesome. Hong Kong is pretty awesome as well for the same reason.
