The title explains it all. I'm driving to Seattle from LA and I want to hear people's opinions on what the most scenic possible route would be.

Thanks in advance!

The most scenic would be right up highway 1 in CA and I believe 101 in Oregon. It will also take you about a year.

Yes, definitely the 1 / 101!
At some points, they are one and the same. At other points, the 1, which is spectacular, is also just a 2-lane road and can take forever, in which case the 101 is faster. Not hard to switch from one to the other.
You will see some beautiful scenery along the way!

I did this in June (from Seattle to San Diego) and it took me 4 days.

We did this in the opposite direction a few years ago ... Seattle to San Diego (at least that was the plan). Around San Luis Obispo, we had seen enough pretty ocean and pretty coast and drove inland to I5 and zipped down.

Are there any areas near the ocean or hills that are dangerous (sharp curves, little protection fencing on the ocean facing side etc...) in case you are a bit distracted by the scenery?

I-5! ........Just kidding. 101 from San Francisco to the washington coast is breathtaking. Newport is one of my favorite seaside towns in america. Amazing fun experience!

Not kidding here: I go up CA-99 until Sacramento and take I-5 the rest of the way, and am always completely visually satisfied.
