My electric kettle and Tasters' Choice...

Actually I've recently splurged and upgraded to Kroger Value Instant.

In all seriousness, I enjoy fine coffee, but it's the company on the other side of the table that matters.

Well said!!! but for me it's the Organic Rainforest Blend from Costco and my cheap coffee maker.

...but everyone once in a while I will stop by a Starbucks or whatever. I love that confused look of the barista when I order a plain coffee with nothing added to it. lol!

I really like Victrola- the staff are super friendly, and the beans are freshly roasted.

My neighborhood may be the only one in Seattle without a Starbucks. We do have a Victrola though.

I've only been there once, but the drip coffee I got was one of the worst I've had in years. Maybe I'm just not discerning enough. I find McCafe even acceptable. Perhaps I should be willing to give them another shot?

My favorite is not up here yet, only in pasco, in Oregon and the northern part of CA - Dutch Brothers. Locally I prefer Uptown at Pier 70 which is near my office, or Java Bean in Ballard.

I've become somewhat of a coffee snob from living in Seattle area for the last 2 years, so here is a list of my favorite roasters in the Seattle area. This list is not conclusive, as I am still searching for the perfect cup, myself. If you want a list of best coffeeshops I can provide that as well:

I would say this list is in order of my favorite to lesser favorites..
1. Kuma Roaster (My Favorite, Never Had a bad cup of Kuma coffee!)
2. Velton's Roaster (Everett, My 2nd Favorite, Never had a bad cup of Velton's coffee! The Yemen coffee from Velton's brought tears to my eyes and was best cup of coffee I ever had.)
3. Olympic Coffee Roaster (In Olympia)
4. Slate Coffee (Horribly Over-Priced, But It is Good!)
5. Cafe Ladro (Usually Phenomenal, Sometimes Too Tart)
6. Cafe Vita (Same as Ladro)
7. Valhalla Coffee (In Tacoma)
8. Seattle Coffee Works/Ballard Coffee Works (Coffee Can Be Awesome, though also overly acidic at times, Avoid French Pressing the more tart varieties from this roaster, everything they serve on drip is french pressed, ironic?)
9. Zoka (Single Origins Only, Cheaper Stuff Sucks)
10. Herkimer (Usually Good Artisian Grade Flavor, However It Can Be a Bit Weak, Sometimes Too Weak)
11. Vivace (For Espresso, not my thing, but there's is good)
12. Camano Island Roasters (Camano Island, Surprisingly Good!)
13. True North Coffee (Quite Good Usually, Although Sometimes Mediocre)
14. Lighthouse (Hit or Miss, Sometimes Good/Sometimes Crap)

These Roasters I Avoid Now
Stumptown (Famous Portland Co, Roasted In Seattle Too, Sometimes Excellent, Usually Too Sour, Over-Roasted)
Victrola (Sometimes Good, Usually Too Sour/Weak)
Cafe d'Arte (Blehhh, Burnt Burnt Burnt)
Tony's (from Bellingham, Some Love Over-Roasted/Bitter Coffee?)
Dilanos (In Sumner, Bleehhhh, Starbucks is better!)
Fonte Coffee (One of the Starbucks Original Roasters, Explains why it sucks)
Seven Coffee Roasters (Sometimes its Good, But Many Times its Grimey/OVer-roasted)
Cafe Rococo (Kirkland, Coffee is Excellent 10% of the time, 90% of time it is crap, burned, bitter, grimey)
Fremont Coffee Company (Not A Fan, Dark Roasts or Very Very Dark Roasts, Too Burned)
Moka Joe's (Anacortes, Ughh.. Roasted to Death)
Black Drop Coffee (Bellingham, Used to be good with previous owner, now is lower grade and more bitter/grimy/burnt than Starbucks)
Lettered Streets Coffee (Bellingham, How do you ruin an Ethiopian coffee? Roasted to death, what should be a light/medium roast bean, seems to be a common trait of bellingham coffeeshops?)
Woods Coffee (Bellingham, The Starbuck-like chain of Bellingham)
Whidbey Coffee Roasters (Oak Harbor, Just Plain Awful! Coffee made me ill, taste like it was heavily roasted in a lead pot!)
Lotus Coffee (Bellingham, Burned/Sour/Over-Roasted)
Starbucks/Seattle's Best Coffee/Tully's (Do this need an explanation?)
