Some people like tiny houses, some people like large houses, what would your dream home specs look like?

Try to make it realistic... I'm not talking if you won the 10 million dollar lottery.

What is a comfortable home for you? Take into consideration that someone has to clean it, pay the utilities, do the yard work, etc, etc...

I think mine would look something like this:

1,500-1,800 sq ft (not too big, not too small)
Craftsman style
4 bed
2.5 bath
2 story
large flat private yard
Chicken coop
vege patch
double garage
cul de sac
scenic views
great schools
close to amenities
dark hardwood floors
subway tile backsplash
gas range
non-nosey neighbors
window in the kitchen overlooking the yard
closed concept kitchen (i know open concept is all the rage, but I hate people seeing me cook

I think I just described most homes in Sammamish.... LOL. Now I need a Sammamish budget

What do you guys like? (this post is just for "fun").

Our current house is in Sammamish, and my only complaint is that the yard is only 12,000 sf. I'd like 2-3 acres with at least 1/2 acre clear. I love the trees but they shade too much of it for a decent sized vegetable garden. I'm limited to a 8'x12' greenhouse positioned to get the most sun, on my side lawn area.
As we get older our next house should be all on one floor. Ours is 2 story, 3,000 sf with 5 bedrooms plus a bonus room over the garage, 2.5 baths and most of the other things in the OPs description but kitchen open to the family room which is essential for us. We don't really have a Sammamish budget either, but bought in 1993 and have stayed here even after the kids moved out and will not be leaving until retirement. At that point we'll still want a house big enough for family gatherings and holiday dinners, with room for a few guests to stay over, probably 2,500 sf will do it. It will most likely be within a couple of hours from Seattle but in a more rural area, and schools will no longer be a big concern though it is important for resale.

All my wife and I would ask for for be a two bedroom (second only needs to be big enough to serve as office and guest room), two bathrooms, and a small yard. Close to the city. Hardwood floors and a nice kitchen.

I don't think it would need to be much more than a 1000 square foot house. Really I wouldn't know what to do with something much bigger.

I would also like at least an acre.. that's the minimum needed for Alpacas

Five bedrooms
Walkable to shops OR view lot
3000+sf
Airy, light, architecturally interesting (I like quirks)
Lot that has grass plus room for pool
Nice kitchen
Nice master suite

i like the homes along lake washington on the bellevue / medina side. i also like the homes in hunt point. rough specs are probably around 6 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms, 5500 sq ft, 100 foot private dock, 1 acre lot, gated entry, pool. too bad most of these homes are way out of my price range as i would guess they start at around $5-7m or so and go up to the sky ($15m+ for nice ones).
