The year 2014, I was the first time to move in the single house. The furnace is 20 years as old as house.
The furnace is located in the garage and my bedroom just is over the garage. In the winter, actually, It needs to turn on the furnace when the season is autumn in Seattle.

I definitely can not stand the sound of furnace while it is running. It is so loud so that I install New furnace. The New furnace is quiet as their company promise. but after 1 year this company guy come over for checking the furnace, the sound of running get more loud no matter wherever I am in my house, I still hear the sound of running furnace. Some my neighbor come over and they also talk to me about the sound is so loud.

Today, the furnace guy come over again and do maintenance. He said that I can hear the sound of furnace because my house is in bad condition. I can not believe that, then I went to my neighbor house to prove that my neighbor's house is the same but the furnace is not same brand. That guy felt upset and told me he was not lying to me. I told him I just want to compare what's difference. I was not lucky my neighbor is out of house. That guy continued to talk a lot WHY I can hear the sound of running my furnace wherever I am in my house. He explains that why my house is bad condition cause I can hear the sound.

I don't know how to handle as this way. I have no idea to fix the sound of furnace. Is only one way to move out of my bad condition(as that guy said) house?

If you are hearing noise when the furnace is running, and it's not the furnace, it probably means vibrations of the metal duct work, transmitting sound through the many vents in the rooms. That would be due to poor installation, at the time the home was built. Most likely loose or not enough screws holding the ducts together, and/or sloppy hangers that allow movement. To repair it could require tearing off ceilings, walls and floors. When buying a house, the inspector should at the very least turn on the furnace to make sure it works and note any anomalies such s noise.

The inspector turned on the furnace when I was buying the house. He definitely just notice the furnace, then he thought the noise because it was too old to change. He did not say anything about the metal duct and poor installation.

If the noise is louder than it was last year, then either there's a problem with the furnace, or something is loose and vibrating; anyhow, something has changed, and it can probably be fixed. Is the noise loud in the garage or just upstairs? When you're in the garage, where does the noise sound like it's coming from?

You might try pushing gently against different things, the furnace and the ducts coming out of the furnace and the ducts elsewhere, see if it changes the noise or if you can feel vibrations that might be causing it. You may be able to find the problem yourself, with some detective work!
