Portland kicked him out, maybe Seattle is more to his liking?

Quote:
Cody Lee Miller, the man dubbed #ManInTree on Twitter after spending 25 hours perched on a tree in downtown Seattle, was arrested in Portland last December.

Miller was hospitalized in Seattle for an evaluation after climbing down the tree Wednesday afternoon, and later arrested for malicious mischief. He was due in court Thursday, but refused to come out of his jail cell.

I waved to him as I walked to work the other morning when he was up the tree, but it was dark so I doubt he saw me from a block away. Much less problematic than some of the other early morning antics I have seen around there the last few years.

I still think that if they'd hit him with a cold water hose, not enough to knock him out of the tree, but just douse him, he would have come down in like five minutes.

Seattle is weird? If anything I found it to be pretty contemporary.. Just because people wear sweatshirts and pants that don't match, doesn't make it weird. It just makes it a little dull..

Portland, in my opinion, is much weirder (in a good way) than Seattle ever will be. That is, if we are not talking the kind of weird like the all the loonies in SODO or by the Burnside Bridge who like to talk to themselves and suffering a wide variety of mental health issues.

P.S.
Just read the article.. I am sure the mayor of Portland will give him a pardon and even use city tax money to buy him a nice loft in Pearl where he can recover from his abuse. In Seattle, he would just be kicked to the side as another mentally deranged loon. Toss him into the SODO with all the other whackjobs.

To me, places like Mississipi, Alabama and Arkansas are weird. I'll take an occasional tree climber any day over the craziness in other parts of the country. My friends and clients consider me to be reasonably sane, sometimes my daughter and I climb high up in those massive cedars at Green Lake.

Me too. I have lived all OVER but I agree with you totally . The last time I left home ( Texas) years back WILL be THE last . I haven't even visited my grown kids this time. Everytime I go back there something awful has happened. Very unhappy people.

Your friends and clients might consider you to be reasonably sane, but you didn't mention your wife. Does she know that you're not reasonably sane?

Hey, he abused a defenseless tree! Weirdness is no excuse! He should be run out of town on a rail, back to the scuzzy town he came from!
