IDK about rents in Lynwood being the same as Northgate; I have a friend renting in Lynnwood, a 1-br. place, and she's paying a lot less than you are. She's paying under $1000. In Lynnwood you can get 2 br. places for what new 1-br. units in your building are renting for. And Lynnwood & Everett are well-served by public transit; there are commuter buses into Seattle. I'm not sure where you're getting your info about life out there. But it might be best for you to get a condo, because prices will only be going up over time, while your salary won't be, much.

I don't know about tech businesses in Seattle, but Microsoft hires anybody who can do the job. They vacuum up talent wherever they can find it, without regard to race or culture or level of attractiveness, lol! That's strange about Amazon only hiring model types.

Are you aware that the apodments are basically roommate situations? They're designed a lot like university dorms, where everyone has their own room clustered around a kitchen and shared living room. The difference is, apodment roomies each have their own private bath. They're not micro-apartments; they're dorms. There are other buildings that do have independent micro-units with their own kitchenette, but I don't think those are called "apodments". They're actual apartments.
There is a good chance that when my lease ends in august 2017 i will buy a condo. Maybe the apartments that your friend has in Lynnwood arent on zillow. If Lynnwood is really that much cheaper than Northgate i may consider Lynnwood.

The micro apodments wouldnt be for me. I just care about people other than myself and want all people to be able to enjoy living in Seattle.

I really wonder how those work out. With shared common spaces, people would have to hope that everyone does their share to keep things clean and agrees on hours that guests and noise are allowed, and all that. Everyone sharing would have to be mature about it. Could get tricky.

It sure could!!! But at least the person would have his or her own private bath and living space. Boy, I'd hate to share a bathroom.

I ran into this issue. I rented a condo in Greenwood and a condo in downtown Seattle before. There was always noise and I almost got physically hurt by a tenant in the Greenwood condos when I confronted them on their loudness once. So I refuse to live in apartments/condos now. You have to worry about your neighbors too much and the management often does nothing or can't do anything.

Woodframes can be noisy, but concrete buildings tend to be much quieter. Mine sure is. And we crack down on noisy people.

I live in a detached house, largish lot but rectangular. I can hear my neighbor expressing undying hatred for his ex wife and she for him whoever it occurs...

With houses, some douchebag might let their dog bark outside. That alone is enough to prefer a highrise.

I don't know if this is related or not but sometimes in some locations you wouldn't expect to see these beautiful women with perfect bodies, their dating profiles are listed in the areas but yet you go walking on the streets and you hardly see these vibrant looking types around, just when you search for others on the computer. I am referencing Florida here though for the most part where I currently live.

So you think theres some underground network possibly pouring in all these types not native to certain areas? and then they move in, get a foothold in a certain industry? god only knows anymore.

The tech scene is causing Seattle to turn into California or the East Coast. On my recent trip there, I saw a TON of fake blondes running around South Lake Union. THey could be tech workers themselves, but I doubt it. I went to the Whole Foods for lunch on a weekday there in SLU, and saw a lot of women lounging around the cafeteria section with strollers and babies. That was not a common sight a few years ago. My god. You used to see nothing but bachelor techie guys. Guess those guys have decided it's worth it to support a stay at home mom (I mean, I'm surprised men anywhere in this country are still into that - I thought that was a fad of the past). So much for a progressive culture. All of this is inevitably bound to create a caste system similar to what is on the East Coast and SoCal.

If I was man with money, I would NOT want to support a stay home wife. You'd think these guys would demand only females with similar income ranges as themselves.
