Just Curious, is anyone other than me trying to get out of the puget sound area ASAP?

Yea, this is a great place and I've met a lot of great people, but something just isn't right. I feel disconnected from the rest of the country. I was thinking about going back to cali too.

This is EXACTLY my experience. I'm on a timeframe and am implementing "the plan" for the move. It will be here soon enough.

That is exactly how I feel

I feel "closed off" - like I need to get on a plane to get anywhere! I was used to the "spread your wings" feeling in my old state.

Plus the weather makes me claustrophobic, I feel like I live in a box

Me, too. I grew up with wide open spaces and deciduous forests-- it's been a tough adjustment even aside from the weather.

I would love to move but don't see it happening soon. The economy is better here.

I have only lived here for about 5 months now but this is exactly how my husband and I feel! It really is so pretty out here and there is so much to see and do. Everyone we have met so far has been nice. BUT.....we CAN'T WAIT to go back east. It's sooooo different than anywhere I've lived which include 8 states. And I never had such a hard time adjusting to a new place! We are always saying that it doesn't make sense but something just isn't right....definitely a disconnnect. My daughter lives in Seattle so I wasn't hesitant about moving here myself....but even she wants to leave eventually.....job and school (UW) keep her here for now.

Well except for Sean, I'd say most all of Seattle has been nice and I've met some GREAT people, and had some great career advances.

But we need to live were we can be happy too.

Most everyone on City Data have been great too - even when Pwright and I bump head's I totally appreciate his good eye and love for his town. That's how I was with my old town. Seattle is great. I just haven't fit well.
