Hi All, well it's getting very real. Mr Kooky landed yesterday with his shiny new visa. The cats and I are getting ready here in Sydney, and they're heading off at the end of the month. I'll follow as soon as I've wrapped up.

I would be really grateful for recommendations on where to get pet supplies. As a priority, our elderly girl has kidney issues (not uncommon in cats, she has a very gradual deterioration, and she's been vet-certified fit to fly) so we need to find some renal food. Here in Oz she has responded well to Royal Canin which has to be prescribed by the vet.

Cat litter - we currently use a recycled paper product, unscented and biodegradable. Ideally would use something similar in Seattle.

We'll need to buy scratching posts, beds, etc., but if all else fails I know somewhere like Target should have these.

Recommendations for vets would also be much appreciated. Our youngster (13) needs transdermal steroid cream applying twice a week. We'll bring some with us but it would be good to get established with a vet ASAP, especially as our girl is 16.5 years.

I'm hoping Mr K can get in some supplies before the kits arrive. We're living near Pike Place but happy to travel for a good supplier.

Thanks for your help.

Mud Bay times 3. Great people, lots of natural/non toxic alternatives. They have a number of stores around the region and often pretty easy parking, here's the link: https://mudbay.com

When we lived DT is when my Amazon habit really kicked into high gear! So much easier than fighting with DT traffic and parking - especially since our building had a concierge and a secure room for receiving packages. Kinda miss downtown...

This is a great time of year to be arriving!

Thanks guys, he found Mud Bay on one of his exploring walks. 3rd & Stewart vets were mentioned and also Urban Animal.

Kayela - living in Australia we're not really into Amazon, etc., in a big way but I do recall my friend in Boston gets everything delivered, right down to a pack of toothbrushes. The packaging and delivery miles concern me, but I may do it for some hard-to-find items. Especially as we're hoping not to have a car.

I'm timing my trip for - hopefully - good weather! Here in Sydney as we head into Winter (June to August), we're expecting 23C (73F) today. It's a tad worrying, TBH.
