We moved to Seattle about 1 year and a half ago, now considering buying a single family house. The neighborhoods fits in our budget and we loved tends to be either in Finn Hill in Kirkland, or Snoqualmie Ridge (bigger nicer house but a bit further from east side). The price in east side Seattle are riding a rocket recently it seems.

Just wondering, for those of you have lived in both places, what is your general opinion for pros and cons for those places (especially considering we have a 2 years old and want to stay in the house for 5+ years).

Thanks.

oki, keep in mind that the Snoqualmie area gets more rain, sure is beautiful out that way though.

Yes Snoqualmie and North Bend are nice but the weather there is gloomier and even snowier. Summers should be pretty similar maybe a little warmer further away from the water

After weather and commute distances, the next biggest difference is that Snoqualmie Ridge is much newer, with homes mostly less than 20 years old, and new ones still being built. At Finn Hill the average age of homes is closer to 50, though there are some newer, especially townhomes and condos.

Depends where you have to go on a daily basis. Snoqualmie is way the heck out there. Finn Hill is in Kirkland although further from the highway so takes a little longer to get to driving through residential areas.
