I'm not sure if any parents have considered the home school option. I've done some research on the WA states standards regarding home schooling and they seem to be more on top of things than they are here in Cali. I currently hs my daughter who was diagnosed with ADD/Anxiety when she was 7. We started when she was in pre-school. The program we use is Christian based and allows her to move at her own pace. So I can let her take breaks if she needs them, get up and move around during "class time", whatever else she needs to be able to complete her work. We also hs our oldest boy and he loves it. He doesn't have any learning issues. Not sure if it helps, but it may be something to consider looking into if you have the time. Good luck!

There is a wonderful new school that just opened in Seattle called Emerald City School: www.emeraldcityschool.com
It's for kids with mild learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, etc. They currently serve grades 1-6..

There's a school called Yellow Wood Academy on Mercer Island that is really good for students who need something more personalized. Most of their classes are just one kid and the teachers are great, they do special ed type stuff with like ADHD/autism/dyslexia but not all the kids have that sort of thing going on. I know some of them are like super athletes or sick so they're gone a bunch and some just really like having to have their own classes.
