Hi! I currently live in Northern Idaho. I moved here a year ago from New Mexico. I have two kids ages 13 and 5. My husband is a Journeyman meat cutter, I do accounting. We are frustrated with the economy here. The economy is bad everywhere but according to the locals it's like this all the time here. We are thinking about moving to the Seattle area butare unsure to which town we should hone in on. We're looking for good schools...being from NM they don't have to be great...good would be an improvement. We know with work and where you live most people have to travel some for work. That's fine. I just want to try to travel as little as possible. It would be amazing if I could work and live in the same town/city. The cost of living is an issue. Where can I get the biggest bang for the buck? Please add your two cents. Thank you so much!

the first question people will ask is how much you can afford for housing? that would be a big determinant on where you'd live. are you buying? renting?

I actually work in Spokane...It isn't bad but not ideal for my hubby. In a year there hasn't been one year-round full-time meat cutting position come available.
Thanks!

I use to live in Lake Stevens which is north of Seattle. Its a nice area with good schools. Its close to Everett and the mountains which makes it close to visit the Urban areas and still feel like your rual. The Lake stevens High school is a really good school with sports especially wrestling and band. Nice community on the Lake with a good mixture of upper class and middle. There is farming areas around so mabey meat cutting positions is a go.
