In Seattle you will find Lenin:

But few if any conservatives.

Listen to Dori and tell me he's not hard core RW. With few exceptions, he's a RW loon.

There are conservatives in Seattle. Follow the money and you'll find them. Magnolia, Blue Ridge, The Highlands, Broadmoor, Capital Hill, Queen Anne... They're around.

Well, to be fair, we only have that statue because it's a work of art that most likely won't seen anywhere else. It wasn't like when the Lenin statute was put up that people put out a parade; people were pissed about being associated with Lenin. In time, it just became a sort of an irony.

I think so long as you avoid mentioning politics people will not care who you are. Even if you are Republican if you don't try to argue day and night over political ideals, people will befriend you, college professors and rabid Marxist Fremontonians notwithstanding.

Yes, I've seen mention of this statue a few times in the past from alarmist right-wingers.
They seem to think because of this statue all the good folks of Fremont are going to become vodka drinking bolsheviks.
(There's a troll sculture 3 blocks away and I wouldn't bet anybody is looking to eat any billy-goats-gruff because of it)

Truth is Lenin was bought by an Issaquah English teacher discovered in a scrapyard in Slovakia. He (lenin) is often dressed up, sometimes as a clown or in drag during gay pride week. Hardly worshiped as a political hero.

I don't listen to Dori and don't care to.

Republicans in Seattle tend to be libertarian and vote for Ron Paul.

The virulently right-wing, creationist think tank Discovery Institute is also Seattle-based. Thats the institution I am most ashamed to have in my city.
