This is huge news!!! It'll be Mexico, YS, abd Canada. Not sure if this is the first time 3 different countries host the same international sporting event.

FIFA is a political organization. This thread is appropriate for this forum.

A lot more sensible than Qatar and other ccorrupt FIFA decision making under Blatter.

The US did host the 1994 World Cup and Mexico hosted the 1970 World Cup, however Canada has never hosted the tournament before.

Just look at all those cities whose inhabitants will be inconvenienced and looted so some dudes can kick a ball around a field. So much to be grateful for!

FIFA is just a great reminder of how corrupt large parts of the world are.

Oh, the US has it too, just not nearly as bad (except for a few parts here and there )

2026 is a long way away but Soccer is getting bigger all the time in the US especially with the challenges facing football these days in terms of injury and general lack of youth interest in some other traditional sports as well.

The parents and grandparents forced to go to these soccer games should be thrilled.

Well who knows by 2026 with Trump in office we may be at war with both Mexico and Canada.

I agree, but it could be worse. I don't know of soccer players being a such a bunch of a-hats kneeling during their anthem. Though given their "acting" during the fake injuries, they do seem like they are pushing for a spot on an NFL roster.

There was no trouble in 1970 when Mexico hoted the World Cup or in 1994 when the US hosted the event and tbh most World Cup's have been relatively peaceful.

The current world cup in Russia which kicks off tomorrow, does have the potential for trouble, however this very much depends on the Russian Authorities and how the deal with the Russian Ultra Hooligan element.

Qatar (2022) in the middle east is a case in point, it has the population of only 2.6 million, is surrounded by countries such as Saudi Arabia, has tempretures in summer in excess of 100F, has a poor human rights record and it's coastline and boders make it perfect for a terrorist attack. Qatar does however have a lot of money, and FIFA and there Ex-President Mr Blatter liked money more than they did football.

So the inhabitants of the Mexican and American host cities weren't inconvenienced by these events or forced to pay for them?
