What I am looking for is a smaller town (20,00 or less) that Yankees have not invaded lol, and still has that distinctly Southern feel. Can someone point me to one in SC?
There are actually still lots of places like this in South Carolina - the question is how important is it for you to be closer than like an hour away from a Wal-Mart or a restaurant other than Hardees and the "House of Pizza"?

The house of pizza!!! A small family run country cookin' place would be great, but those are not hard to find down here!
And about being close to a Wal-Mart- I just did a search and there are Wal-Marts in Greenwood, Camden, and Newberry, and the one in Greenwood is a short drive to Abbeville.
Oh and about schools... I'm going to put my kids (which I do not have now, but we definatly are planning!) in a private school or Christian school. Anybody now any good ones in the following towns?
The four you list all have private and Christian schools. Google the city and Christian schools and you will see the list. I am not familiar with the schools.

Ya, that is probably the best thing to do. But anyways, thanks for all y'alls help!
Despite areas that are attracting more transplants on average, South Carolina is still overwhelmingly a very Southern state. With very few exceptions, practically any town in this state of 20,000 will be suitable for the OP, especially an inland town.
Am I the only one a little depressed by the number of Northerners vs southerners threads? =(
