How do you SC voters feel about his re-entry into politics? I'm amazed at his chutzpa.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Accufitgolf,
He turned down books for the school children, he said it would cost too much money.
It was federal money, but the kids didn't get the books.
He spent SC taxpayers money to fly to Argentina, to visit his woman.
How come the kids got shafted?
Oh yea, he paid it back, because he got caught.
And you state you would vote for him?
Really?

He is not perfect but is not as far right and as racist as many elected people in SC are. Some what of the lesser of the evils.

Mark Sanford's political views and policies may remain unchanged, but his personal life getting in the way of his being in office may have turned away his following.

Jon Stewart had some fun at his expense last night. Can't recall any of the jokes of course.

I am shocked that Mark Sanford won the nomination for the House seat. What he did says everything about his character. I feel sorry for his kids. What kind of a father does this and then flaunts his mistress in public? His ex wife is lucky to be rid of him. If what goes around comes around.... he better be looking over his shoulder.

Sanford remains popular in the lowcountry to return to Washington and his views and platform have not changed much. His personal life has been altered and he has to live with it.

You shouldn't be. Facts continue to play an insignificant role in elections. It has been shown repeatedly that the most important factors are (1) name recognition and (2) being first or early in the ballot order. A lot of folks have heard of Sanford so they voted for him. It's easier and less trouble than actually spending time choosing the right candidate.

I would not have voted for him for the same reasons that I would have not previously voted for him - I disagree strongly with his positions on most issues. While his affair and subsequent divorce didn't impress me, the fact that he thought he could actually get away with sneaking off to Argentina just confirmed my opinion of his judgment skills, or lack thereof.

Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me. Luckily, living in the Upstate, voting for or against him isn't an option at this time but I will tell you if he ever appears on my ballot again, he will not get my vote.
