The lot behind Petco/Micheals is the perfect size and location for a large chain resturant or a strip with smaller chains like Jimmyjohns & Chipolte

My vision for Kmart is for a complete facade facelift and split into 2 or 3 midsize box stores. Preferably Khol’s, Marshall’s or Academy Sports. Then in the front left corner (basically backed up to the hotel next door) a freestanding restaurant. Preferably Carabba’s or something similar.

All you guys have some great ideas, just hope some folks from the city and developers are visitors to this page. With nearly 143,000 views it's not just Sumter people on here.

This would be awesome, lots of great potential for Broad Street. It's Sumter premier retail corridor, so the city should go all out with it, as well as improving the looks of it in some stretches.

I'm hoping for a Hobby Lobby where Kmart was! Lol. I think it's a great location right across from Chick-Fil-A!
