Most people get on here to hunt info., make friends and contacts, etc., where some get on here because they believe their opinions should be guilded in gold leaf, they love the way their words look on the screen, and that their farts don't stink. With these two types also come a smaller, more paranoid breed of subscriber that believes everyone is out to get them. You can't respond to their posts because it will inevitably offend them, and even though they know the answer to something they will still ask it just to see whether or not it fits into their preconceived notion. If it doesn't, they will badger you until you either agree to disagree, or until you simply stop responding. I have said my piece on yankee transplants, north vs. south, idiot logic of rebel flags, hypocracy of southern hospitality, southerners being judgmental toward outsiders, etc. (since I am from the south I feel I have a right to have an opinion on these matters without judgment or retaliation, as well as a responsibility to call out arrogance and piety when I see it in my fellow southerners), so I no longer feel a need to express an opinion, or to become emotionally invested in this topic. It seems like there might be a pissing contest in the works with no end point, resolve, or purpose. Love your neighbor, because opinions differ but the inherent universal need for empathy and understanding does not.
