Call the chamber and ask for some leads. It's not that big of an area, so there's not much out there on the internet.

I'm sure there is a local newspaper in the area. Place an ad in the classified that you are interested in renting a house. If you have good references from previous landlords and employers you probably won't have trouble finding something. There are usually plenty of houses available to rent in small towns, however landlords are quite leerly about renting because they have been burned too many time with poor renters. If they advertise a house is for rent it puts them in a situation where they can be reported for discrimination etc if someone wants to rent it and they are denied. Many small towns are getting a number of transient renters who trash houses and leave in the middle of the night. Some owners would rather have a house sit empty that have to put up with less than desirable tenents who have left them with unpaid water, electric and gas bills which the owner can be stuck paying if they want utilities connected in the house again. This happened to my in-laws. After renters being in the house for about six months they also had to completely replace the carpeting in the house, fix holes in the walls and doors and pay the city for mowing because the renters refused to do it. They ended spending more to repair and pay bills than they had collected in rent.
