Hello,
I will be moving to Aberdeen SD with my family in 3 months and we are currently looking for a house to rent. I have three kids, so it would be difficult to fit in an appartment.
It seems that there is nothing available from what the realtors I have contacted tell me. Any idea about alternative ways to find something to rent? Any tip?
They also have a "free" newspaper, up there. Publishes once a week, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it's called, right now......
That would be the Midland Press, although there doesn't seem to be a website for it. Sobb, Debey's suggestion of the classifieds in the local paper is your best bet. I know you can find a lot of 'For Rent' signs in front of apartments in Aberdeen, but I don't know if landlords put them in front of rental houses very often. Craigslist hasn't become very popular in this part of the state yet, but you could always try that too.
Oh...and also, there are a couple newer apartment complexes in town that have 3 bedroom apartments. Rent for those is probably 1.5-2 times as much as you'd pay for a decent sized house though.
I've got relation up there that has properties. I'll check with them and see if they have anything. I used to rent a house from them.
