I'm suprised more homeless aren't camping out in the vacant housing. It looks like one vacant house in St. Joe may have been caught on fire due to that very thing.

I'll have to check that out - It's hard to stay up on news out there - due to News-Leader's site sucking so bad.

Red face Homeless...

Yes, it's hard to imagine that there are homeless people right here in the Branson area...many times they blend in with the tourists on the street. But there are even whole families that have been displaced.

It's more important now than ever to help our local food banks. Please remember Christian Associates in Kimberling City, CAM & the Salvation Army in Branson, My Neighbor's Pantry in Forsyth...and all of the catholic churches have active food pantries also. There may be others I don't know, but these are the main source of help to our down-and-out neighbors.

No matter where you are in the socio-economic scale, there's always someone you can help.

I would like to say Thanks to those of you in Missouri who are helping people in need where you can. My daughter and her fiance live near Branson. They were both laid off in Dec. and have been struggling just to put food on the table. If it weren't for the support of family members and food banks they would have gone hungry and been evicted. Luckily they should start back at work mid March.
