Am wondering if the community and surrounding areas has an active element of artisans and what possibilities or outlets there are for showing work?

I'm moving to St. George this summer, but I have heard they have "Art in the Park". I hope to find artistic like-minded people in St. George when I get there. Good luck

Sounds as if art is more of a secondary thing to you, so curious to know what it is that draws you to SG?

I moved to St. George last October. The area is attractive to more artists due to the burgeoning retirement community. They have an Art Museum as well as a few galleries. There are several local art festivals but, I am looking at the fact that it is centrally located. Many tourist areas close by (within 100 miles) and Las Vegas is only an hour and a half from here. St. George is not known as a cultural hub if that's what you're looking for. Oil Painting classes for retired peoples and scrapbooking for the WASMow's (white, anglo-saxon, mormon woman).
I hope that helps.

Thanks! It does help! Actually I was thinking more along the lines of art/craft type faires and not so much of fine art.
