My husband and I are moving back to St. Louis. We would likely live in st louis county, west county, creve coeur or chesterfield. How can we find out which parish schools are the best academically?

I think most answers would be pretty subjective. My wife and I currently live in the Creve Coeur, area, in the St. Monica Parish, but we've attended Incarnate Word Parish since moving back to St. Louis (it's further down olive towards chesterfield). We recently purchased a home further North in St. Ann, and will be attending Holy Trinity Parish in the near future. We looked through the bulliten that detailed where the 8th grade graduates would be attending highschool. Out of a class of approximately 30 students, two were going to Pattonville, and one or two were going to Ritenour, all the rest were accepted into private high schools (SLUH, DeSmet, CBC, Incarnate Word, St. Josephs Academy, Nernix Hall, etc). When i've looked up this school (Holy Trinity), i've found the majority of people are happy with it, but i think most people are happy with their decisions as long as their child is getting what they consider to be a good education. The only way to really tell if a school is providing a superior education, isn't only to look at where the graduates go for High School, but to see how well the students place in their high school (Advance Placement Track, remedial, normal, etc.) and how well these students succeed in school, that information will be really hard to come by, and often can be as dependant on the student's attitude and motivation as it can the learning environment.

Thank you, would you happen to know how the students at St. Monica's or Incarnate Word do? We own a home inbetween those two parishes and are deciding if we should return or move. Do you know if any of the parishes offer a gifted program?

Thanks!
