El Canelo used to be good, but their quality has dropped in the last year. Garcia's in Cortland is good for this area, but still not even close to real Mexican food.

So to keep this thread positive I will also add that there have been some great new stores opening in the area. The Green Grocery (I don't know if that is the real name), Below Five, and Maines in Fairmount. A new Herb Philipsons in Western Lights and Urban Outfitters in Armory Square.
How's Pico Gallo or Alto Cinco? A place that was good, but is gone was Jalapeno's. At the time it was open, the owner lived in Phoenix and his wife, who was of Mexican descent, and I believe her brother did a lot of the cooking. I don't know what happened though.

OK, Now this is what I was looking for. I'm glad to see some things changing and new stores opening and condos and apartments being built downtown..Now if we could only do something about the taxes!!

I agree with the taxes, but even with the property taxes, the cost of living is still below average and is probably at or below that for St. Pete.
