Which suggests what? That they were both simply stupid enough to chose to escalate a minor issue to the level they did?

One less line of defense for the plaintiff.

If he actually is going to use SYG, I don't think any other criteria would factor into it; just a matter of whether he can prove he was in fear for either his life or great bodily harm. I'm hoping he can't use SYG since idiots like him hurt gun owners' rights, and if that's the case, this could be good then.

I never thought it would be about alcohol, or drugs even though it could have been a possibility.

This entire is about anger management out of control and unless proven otherwise it seems the victim bullied and run into the wrong person to do so.

Again no reason to die for but reasonable people would have reacted differently.

The shooter used his cell phone for receiving a text from his son (who was running late) and replied to him... all inside the theater 15 minutes prior to shooting.... (according to ABC news aired tonight).... So, let me get it straight - the shooter used his cell phone for texting inside the theater, but didn't want anyone else to do it, so he provoke the innocent man and killed him... Great!

This SYG law certainly makes it easy to get rid of some one you dont like, just taunt, tease or aggravate some one to the point it looks like they are going to confront you then you kill them saying you felt threatened.

First off all, this is not a SYG case. Secondly, you just don't claim SYG and walk away. Proving that it was SYG is not very easy. Prosecutors find holes in SYG cases which sinks them.

Well, it still doesn't make sense to me.... the killer used his cell phone inside the theater for texting, but when someone else did the same, he asked to stop, went to the management to complain, come back and started the argument again and then used the gun. Wow! I am glad this guy is in jail now, really. Cannot wait for the trail.
