Who thinks Reeve's will get off on SYG (stand your ground) defense ? The trial is set for 1/11/16.

I personally hope he does not and hope he's charged w/ murder. I just can't believe that he actually thought he was in fear of his life. I believe he let his temper get the best of him.

I guess its up to the judge.

SYG? The man (Reeves) was responding to a verbal and physical attack which was quickly escalating. SYG has nothing to do with the case. The dead guy committed felony assault and battery and was not going to stop his attack.

Reeves never lost his temper as the dead guy did. Reeves simply wanted to enjoy the movie he paid to see. Having had that opportunity taken from him he reported the incident to the theater management and when he got back to his seat the dead guy rose from his seat, turned around to face Reeves and began the verbal and physical attack on Reeves who, when he realized this event was not going to end without further harm to him, decided to use deadly force to avoid further injury.

The defense rests

He did not have to "fear for his life" although his death could have resulted if Oulson was able to continue his assault on Reeves.

776.012 Use or threatened use of force in defense of person.—
(1) A person is justified in using or threatening to use force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force. A person who uses or threatens to use force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat before using or threatening to use such force.
(2) A person is justified in using or threatening to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using or threatening to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony.
A person who uses or threatens to use deadly force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground if the person using or threatening to use the deadly force is not engaged in a criminal activity and is in a place where he or she has a right to be.

I wonder why Reeve's wife who was sitting next to them felt the need to ask her husband "why did you shoot him?" after her husband was just so violently assaulted ? In which his answer to her was to " shut the f... up". (He seems and looks like a real charmer huh?)

I also wonder why no other people have came forward stating they've experienced any kind of violent incident w/ Oulson in the past ? I think quite a few of Reeve's old co-workers from TPD and even a neighbor have come forward stating how he was "hard to work with", etc. (Clearly an a** hole, control freak to most people).

I have a feeling he will walk too though, he's a LEO and has just about the best defense lawyer (Escobar) in the area.
