Also funny about Janis Joplin. I'd usually always keep a cd of Janis in the car, and when it would come on, my daughter would say, oh no, her again. She said the same thing, that JJ just screamed. LOL All I know is when Janis would sing "Cry, Baby" or "Take a Little Piece of My Heart" I was singing along with her at the top of lungs. I'm sure that was enough to have my daughter praying dear Lord, make it stop.
That poor child.....LOL!!

KK's real talent (like Willie), IMHO, is as a songwriter. I can listen to Willie, but not KK--he's often offkey and flat. But boy, can he write that music! One of my favorite albums is Willie Sings Kristofferson!
I agree. I tell people I can remember when Willie couldn't sing or play a guitar. KK, like Willie and wine, got better with age though.

I have a friend at Muleshoe, Texas, who is about the same age as Fender, who tells me he once worked in a cotton gin in south Texas with Freddie Fender before his popularity. This same person also told me Tish Hinojosa's bus once got a speeding ticket in Muleshoe and that Tish gave the police officer one of her cassette tapes.

I don't know if these stories are true but I'm certainly inclined to believe the story about Hinojosa. Anyone who has driven through Muleshoe, Texas twice has had one of their speeding tickets to remember their trip.
