Hello, my husband is considering to relocate to Beaumont, TX with his job. I have 2 boys ages 5 and 7. How are the schools? What neighborhood should we consider or should we just consider other states. Our other option is Seattle , WA... Please help..

Thanks

Simply go to Seattle, if only Texas choice, but it is damp in Seattle, 9 months out of 12 with highest suicide rate in the nation. oh me, such good news to share, good luck !!

Seattle would be better unless you have some reason to live more frugally. However I think Beaumont would be less culture shock than Memphis.

Cheaper in Beaumont, more to do in Seattle.

I meant if only Texas city choice was Beaumont, I'd just about go most anywhere else with a few exceptions, have you been there yet? Beaumont is not a top spot even in Texas, however it might be ok for you, again good luck !!

I would move to Seattle. Unless the pay verses the cost of living is significant, Seattle, even with older more cramped housing.

About the only job I would take in Beaumont, would be refinery plant operations, as those or outsized pay checks for the education brought to the table.

I grew up in South Jefferson county, moved to Deep East Texas and would never move back. But, if you do decide to raise your boys there, at least they will be able to say "Southeast Texas is a great place to be from."

Cheers
