Hello East Texans, I believe I am about to be offered a job in Beaumont. I currently live in El Paso. I was curious if anyone has information or resources as I am more interested in a rental/lease of a home on a few acres of land, preferably with hunting opportunities. Everything I search online brings up rentals in the city areas. I guess my questions would be:

1. In Beaumont (non rural areas) what areas are recommended with good high schools?
2. Does anyone know of more rural or spacious land rental properties, maybe just north of beaumont?
3. What are the areas to avoid and why?

Thanks in advance. I have read past forums, but looking for fresh answers.

I assume you are talking deer hunting.

I think you want somewhere in the Sour Lake area. The high school there (Hardin Jefferson HS) has good standards and is desireable. Lots of deer and feral / wild hogs in the area plus public hunting in part of the Big Thicket Lance Rosier Unit. This is all 10-15 minutes out of Beaumont. A couple of subdivisions between Sour Lake and Beaumont are just lousy with deer (but no hunting permitted) would be Northwest Forest and Pinewood. Just need to contact some local real estate folks. I live north of Beaumont about 50 miles up US 69 but work in Beaumont with several folks from the areas I mentioned.

Default thanks

Appreciate your reply. Doesn't seem to be to many rentals.listed for that area so a call to local realtors may help.
