I think it's Temple or maybe Hillsboro.

Whenever they show the weather maps on television it appears to be in the Temple area.

But it was based on Garland and Richardson in the 1970s.

In a related note, the series finale of KOTH is tonight. They don't seem to have advertised it much.

eh, it is supposed to be bukoos, anyway .

Knew a girl that was from Weatherford and she worked as part of the staff (writer, I think) for KOTH. She said it was the easiest job she would ever have, since she basically grew up in the show's setting .

This made me chuckle. Arlen is a fictional town, but there are lots and lots of places just like it.

Maybe closer to Killeen, as Mr Dautrive works at a military base.

NAS JRB is in Fort Worth. Sheppard is in Wichita Falls. But Wichita Falls is too far from Houston/SA. If I had to guess I'd say Bryan/College Station or Temple/Killeen.
