Here, the only options are $25-30/person, which puts it into a different dining category from Texas Barbecue. In Texas, we can get a barbecue platter with more than one meat and a side dish or two from a fast food barbecue place for $8-10.

actually, its not "better" its "different"

just like Memphis BBQ is different from Texas BBQ...

I do think, (I know) the meat in Brasil/south america is better than what most people can get here.

Or you could make it yourself.

Anyway, I wasn't talking about price, but taste.

For some of us, price is a factor in which is better. Although it may cost 2-3 x as much here, I'm not convinced that churrascaria food is 2-3x better than the best fast food BBQ.

I must agree. It truely is some of the best meat I have ever had. Not only Fogo de Chao, but Rafain and several other places.

Something tells me that your idea of the best barbecue in Texas is either Rudy's or Iron Works then.

And you'd be wrong on that assumption.

We have another place here in the Dallas Metroplex called "Master Grill" that is a churrasco and very good, better than and less expensive than Fogo de Chao. A lot of us Texans DO get out more than you might realize and try all different things and that is the point. It is "different" than Texas BBQ.

Master Grill was doing lunch specials for $10 a person. They have a pineapple that is AWESOME!!! They peel it and then put it on the skewer and put cinnamon and brown sugar on it and heat it up. OHMYHEAVENS!!!! Mouth watering. For dinner their price range is $25 but they do have senior citizen specials as well that I believe was the $10 price. There is one in Firewheel in Garland and I think in Frisco as well.

Smile Churrasco ?

I know why that stuff is so expensive. It's because it is loinage from the dreaded South Texas Chupracabra - and you just don't see them every day. Pretty rare-yes sireee. Have a great day!!!

For what it costs, Rudy's is very good, much better than Grady's or Bill Miller's. I've never seen Iron Works.
